The words we choose are only a small part of our total communication. Failure to grasp and compensate for this fact can have disastrous effects on individuals, teams and entire organizations.

To an individual, this means the person who makes the sale, lands the job or has the most influence will not necessarily be the person who is the most qualified. It will be the person who makes the best connection with the intended audience.

To a team, it could mean not fulfilling its charter or achieving its goals. According to a study by Giga Information Group, lack of communication is the key "project killer" for IT implementations. Giga reports, "only 55 to 60 percent of IT projects proceed from initiation to completion and less than 40 percent of the completed projects meet enough of the initial requirements to merit a rating. The factors that are commonly listed as project killers result directly from poor communication practices..."

In order to make that connection and achieve peak communication we must understand our own communication style and the styles of those with whom they interact. In order to achieve peak performance, we must understand our own personality type and that of the people on whom we depend, and with whom we work.

The Psychometric Profiles we use can give you the information you need to make the connection, and they can equip you and your team to realize maximum results.
